Consensus Big Board

Big boards and mock drafts, averaged in the open. A board votes talent. A mock votes the pick. Nothing here sits behind a paywall.

How the board is built

Each input is one published list. A big board votes a talent rank. A mock draft votes the pick, which is how NFL Mock Draft Database folds mocks into a consensus board: team need is inside the number, and a player left off a mock is not handed a fake rank at the bottom. The Mean is the weighted average of every list that actually names him. The Mock column is that average from the mocks alone, so the mock market can be read apart from the boards. He is not ranked here until at least 3 lists have named him.

Newer lists count more, boards and mocks alike. Full weight inside 14 days, 0.85 through 28 days, 0.65 through 56 days, 0.45 through 112 days, then the list drops out. Order is that blended mean, lowest first. Ties go to the player on more big boards, then the better median, then the better best rank.

The Round 1 consensus mock under this note is a separate chair-by-chair read, built only from the mocks. At each pick the Bureau seats the player most often placed there who is not already taken. If nobody left was actually mocked at that number, the best remaining average pick fills the chair and the agreement reads zero. One player, one chair. That is the same rule Mock Draft Database used on its consensus mock. The Bureau does not copy that site’s full scrape. What is on file is every mock this page can read in the open: Tankathon, Walter Cherepinsky, Charlie Campbell, Drafttek, and Michael Renner’s CBS round 1.

Every Monday at 6:00 a.m. Eastern, the first visit re-reads Tankathon, Scouting Grade, Walter Football, and the six outlet columns on Pro Football Network’s industry page. If a live page’s top 20 has not moved, it keeps its old date and its weight keeps aging. If the order moved, that page is dated the day it was re-read. Article boards and filed mocks stay on file until they age out. If a live page fails, its last filed ranks are carried forward. PFN’s own average is not used. The Bureau re-averages the columns with the other lists.

Round 1 consensus mock

5 filed mocks, one player per chair. Agreement is how many of those mocks used that exact pick. A dash means the chair was filled by average pick because no remaining player was actually slotted there.
